The Neptune Islands are a world-renowned destination for great white shark diving, with dive schedules carefully coordinated around conditions and shark activity. While we follow a well-structured daily plan, diving times and specific sites may vary slightly based on weather, sea conditions and operational logistics to ensure the best possible encounters and safest experience.

Across the expedition, you can expect multiple great white shark interaction encounters each day, alongside down time, games, mealtimes and snacks, education, photography and other fun group experiences onboard.

Arrival & Transfers

Guests will arrive into Port Lincoln Airport, with some choosing to stay overnight in Port Lincoln before our group transfer on the 23rd.

On arrival day (23rd), we’ll travel together by van from Port Lincoln Airport to the marina, where we will all check into our rooms, settle into boat life and enjoy our first evening together.

Diving Days

Each morning starts with breakfast onboard, followed by a detailed briefing from the crew outlining the day’s conditions, safety procedures and cage rotation schedule. Guests are then allocated into small, designated cage-diving groups to ensure a calm, organised and personalised experience.

Throughout the day, groups rotate through submersible cage sessions, allowing everyone ample time encountering the great white sharks. The surface cage is open for the entire duration of the day for unlimited shark diving!

When not in the cages, guests can spend time in the surface cage, relax and sun- bake on the deck, photograph sharks from the surface, review and edit footage, or simply take in the beautiful open-ocean surroundings.

Lunch is served onboard during the day, with continued cage rotations and observation sessions throughout the afternoon until the end of the day.

As shark activity tapers off, evenings are spent unwinding onboard, sharing stories, reviewing images and footage, enjoying dinner prepared by our onboard private chef and taking in the breathtaking sunset views over the Southern Ocean.

This flexible structure allows us to maximise time with the sharks while maintaining a safe, respectful and unhurried expedition environment.

Departure

On our final day, we’ll return to Port Lincoln in the evening, where the expedition officially concludes. Our transfer van will drop us to our accommodation for the night. It is likely that we will organise a final group dinner in Port Lincoln for those who wish to attend. Guests will then continue onward travel.

  • BCD: $20AUD for the sea lions diving if scuba diving (instead of freediving or snorkelling), otherwise this is not required for any cage diving

  • Mask and snorkel: High quality set ($50-100AUD) purchased onboard or guests are recommended to bring their own.

  • Dive Computer: It is currently recommended to bring your own or go by the computer of your CREW Dive Guide.

  • NITROX Tanks (32%): $50AUD +$25AUD/bottle used. For Nitrox certified Divers Only.

Safety is central to every aspect of this expedition.

All activities are conducted under strict safety protocols by experienced Rodney Fox crew members specialising in great white shark operations.

Comprehensive briefings are provided before all sessions, covering procedures, behaviour guidelines and emergency protocols. Safety equipment, oxygen and first aid are always onboard and conditions are continuously monitored.

Small cage group sizes, with one guide inside the cage with you at all times, ensures close supervision, calm interactions and a controlled environment, allowing you to focus fully on your experience.

Getting to the Neptune Islands is straightforward, and we’ll guide you through each step of the journey.

1. Fly into Adelaide, South Australia

Fly into Adelaide Airport (ADL). We recommend arriving at least one day prior (22nd) to the expedition start date to allow buffer time for domestic connections and to ensure a relaxed start to the trip.

Most guests will then need to take a domestic flight from Adelaide to Port Lincoln.

2. Adelaide to Port Lincoln (domestic flight)

From Adelaide, fly to Port Lincoln Airport (PLO). This flight takes approximately 45-60 minutes and operates multiple times daily. We will provide recommended flight times closer to departure to align with the expedition schedule.

Some guests may choose to arrive in Port Lincoln the day before departure and stay overnight.

3. Port Lincoln to the vessel (transfer included)

On the expedition start day, a group transfer will be arranged from Port Lincoln Airport to the departure point of our liveaboard vessel. This transfer is included as part of the expedition.

Once onboard, you’ll meet the crew, receive safety briefings and settle in before departing for the Neptune Islands.

4. Arrival at the Neptune Islands

After departing Port Lincoln, the vessel will travel to the Neptune Islands, where the real fun begins! Travel time varies depending on sea conditions, but once on site, the focus shifts to great white shark encounters, education and life at sea.

Departure

At the conclusion of the expedition, the vessel will return to Port Lincoln in the evening on the 28th. Group transfers will be provided back into town or to Port Lincoln Airport for onward travel.

Great white shark diving in South Australia is strictly regulated and operates under comprehensive government-issued permits designed to prioritise shark welfare, human safety and long-term conservation.

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions operates in full compliance with these regulations and follows industry-leading best practices for ethical shark tourism.

For you reference, as part of these regulations:

• Sharks are not permitted to consume bait. Bait is used solely as a visual attractant to encourage sharks into the area, not as a food source.

• If a shark successfully takes the bait, all bait is immediately removed from the water for a mandatory minimum of 15 minutes before any activity resumes.

• This pause allows shark behaviour to return to baseline and ensures encounters remain non-associative and non-conditioning.

• Bait is never fed directly to sharks and repeated feeding behaviours are actively avoided.

These rules are in place to ensure sharks do not associate boats, cages or humans with food, helping maintain their natural hunting behaviours and reducing any long-term impact on their ecology.

All cage-diving sessions are carefully monitored and activities may be paused or adjusted at any time based on shark behaviour, environmental conditions or regulatory requirements.

By operating within these strict guidelines, this expedition supports a responsible, science-informed approach to shark tourism. This allows for extraordinary encounters while protecting the animals and ecosystems that make them possible.

PAYMENT PLAN & CANCELLATION TERMS

Please read these terms carefully before securing your place. By submitting a Trip Deposit, Instalment or Pay in Full option you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Payment Plan & Cancellation Terms.

1. Expedition Price

The total price for your Apex Experience Expedition place is $4,750 AUD per person ("Expedition Price").

Your booking is for a specific place on a limited-capacity expedition. By securing that place, you are entering into a commitment to pay the full Expedition Price, subject to the cancellation provisions below.

The payment of the initial deposit does not create a right to cancel the booking for the cost of the deposit alone.

2. Deposit

A $1,000 AUD nonrefundable deposit is required to secure your place.

The deposit is applied toward the total Expedition Price.

Your place is not secured until the required deposit has been received. Spaces will remain available to book until deposits are submitted and places are confirmed.

The deposit requirement is set by our partner operator, Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions.

The deposit is non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly provided for under these Terms.

3. Payment Options

After payment of the $1,000 AUD deposit, the remaining balance is $3,750 AUD.

You may choose either:

Option A — Full Payment

Pay the remaining $3,750 AUD in one payment by the applicable final-payment date.

Option B — Two Instalments

Pay the remaining $3,750 AUD in two instalments of:

• $1,875 AUD — due on 23rd June 2026 for Trip 1 / 20th July 2026 for Trip 2

• $1,875 AUD — due on 23rd October 2026 for Trip 1 / 20th November 2026 for Trip 2

The applicable payment dates will be displayed at the time of booking and confirmed in your booking confirmation.

Full payment must be completed no later than Friday 23rd October 2026 for Trip 1 / Friday 20th November 2026 for Trip 2, being three months prior to the applicable expedition.

4. Payment Obligation

Your booking is a contract for the Expedition Price of $4,750 AUD.

Once Odysea Ecounters has accepted your booking and your deposit has been received, you remain responsible for the applicable payments under these Terms.

Failure to make an instalment by its due date does not automatically cancel or release you from your booking or from amounts properly payable under these Terms.

Odysea Ecounters may issue a written payment reminder and provide a reasonable period for the overdue amount to be paid.

5. Customer Cancellation

If you choose to cancel your expedition place, you must notify Odysea Ecounters in writing.

Cancellation takes effect when Odysea Ecounters receives your written cancellation notice.

Because expedition places are limited and Odysea Ecounters commits resources, supplier arrangements and capacity based on confirmed bookings, cancellation charges apply according to the following schedule:

More than 180 days before the applicable expedition departure date

The $1,000 AUD deposit is retained. Any amount paid above the deposit will be refunded, subject to any non-refundable third-party costs specifically incurred for your booking.

180 days or fewer before the applicable expedition departure date

All payments become non-refundable and the cancellation charge is 100% of the Expedition Price.

For Trip 1, the six-month cancellation period commences on 23rd July 2026.

For Trip 2, the six-month cancellation period will commence six months before the applicable expedition start date, as confirmed in your booking confirmation.

These cancellation charges are intended to reflect Odysea Ecounters' legitimate interests and the financial consequences of reserving a limited expedition place, including committed supplier costs, operational planning, administration and the loss of the opportunity to sell the place to another participant.

6. Cancellation Within 180 Days

If you cancel within six months or 180 days of the applicable expedition departure date, you acknowledge that Odysea Ecounters may already have committed significant funds and resources in reliance on your booking and may have limited or no reasonable opportunity to resell your place.

Accordingly, the applicable cancellation charge under clause 5 becomes payable notwithstanding that some or all of the remaining scheduled instalments have not yet fallen due.

7. Resale of a Cancelled Place

Where reasonably possible, Odysea Ecounters may attempt to resell a cancelled expedition place.

Odysea Ecounters is not required to find a replacement participant before applying the applicable cancellation charge.

However, if Odysea Ecounters successfully resells the cancelled place, Odysea Ecounters may, at its discretion and having regard to amounts actually recovered and costs saved, reduce the amount otherwise payable by the cancelling participant.

Any such reduction is calculated by Odysea Ecounters after allowing for reasonable costs associated with the cancellation and resale.

A participant is not entitled to a reduction merely because another person expresses an interest in taking their place.

8. Transfer of a Booking

With Odysea Ecounters' prior written approval, you may request to transfer your expedition place to another person.

A transfer is not effective until Odysea Ecounters confirms it in writing.

The replacement participant must satisfy all booking requirements and agree to Odysea Ecounters' then-current Terms and Conditions.

Odysea Ecounters may charge reasonable administrative or third-party costs associated with an approved transfer.

A transfer does not automatically release the original participant from their payment obligations until Odysea Ecounters confirms in writing that the transfer has been accepted and the replacement participant has completed all required payments.

9. Failure to Pay

If you fail to make a payment by its due date, Odysea Ecounters may provide written notice requiring payment within a specified period.

If the overdue amount remains unpaid, Odysea Ecounters may treat the booking as cancelled by the participant and apply the cancellation provisions in these Terms.

Where an amount is properly payable under these Terms and remains unpaid, Odysea Ecounters reserves the right to seek recovery of that amount through lawful debt-recovery or other legal processes.

Odysea Ecounters may also recover reasonable external costs incurred in recovering an overdue amount to the extent permitted by law.

10. No Automatic Right to Cancel by Forfeiting the Deposit

Payment of the $1,000 AUD deposit does not give the participant an option to cancel the expedition at any time by forfeiting only the $1,000 AUD deposit.

The deposit is part-payment toward the Expedition Price.

If you cancel after the applicable six-month cancellation period has commenced, the cancellation charge in clause 5 applies.

11. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right, guarantee, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be read down or severed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to operate to the extent permitted by law.

12. Acceptance of These Terms

By submitting your payment (Trip Deposit, Instalments or Pay in Full), you acknowledge that:

• you have read these Payment Plan & Cancellation Terms;

• you understand that the total Expedition Price is $4,750 AUD;

• you understand that the $1,000 AUD deposit is part-payment toward that price;

• you understand that the deposit is required to secure your place and is a requirement of our partner operator, Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions;

• you understand that booking an expedition place creates an obligation to make the applicable payments under these Terms;

• you understand the cancellation charges that may apply;

• you understand that payments become non-refundable six months prior to the applicable expedition start date;

• you understand that cancelling within the applicable cancellation period does not automatically release you from amounts properly payable under these Terms; and

• you agree to be bound by these Terms.

IMPORTANT: Please do not make a booking unless you understand and accept the payment and cancellation obligations set out above.

Travel & Dive Insurance

Comprehensive dive and travel insurance is mandatory for all participants and needs to cover scuba-diving-related accidents and other unexpected expenses associated with your participation in the expedition, including flight costs and other travel arrangements.

Your insurance should be suitable for the activities involved in the Apex Experience Expedition and should provide appropriate cover for cancellation, interruption, medical expenses and other relevant travel risks.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your insurance provides adequate cover for your individual circumstances and the activities included in the expedition.

Important Notes

This expedition operates in a natural, open-ocean environment and involves wild animals. Shark activity, weather and sea conditions can vary from day to day and encounters cannot be guaranteed. However, every effort will be made to maximise opportunities while prioritising safety and animal welfare.

By securing your place on the expedition, you acknowledge and accept the dynamic nature of ocean-based wildlife experiences.
